Youth intervention services

Most young people in New Zealand are thriving. They get the guidance, support and opportunities they need to prepare them for life as an adult.

However, for some young people, this is not the case. To support these young men and women to reach their potential and contribute fully in the social, economic and cultural life of New Zealand, we need to make sure that their issues and needs are addressed.

For young people at risk of poor life outcomes, intervening at the right time can transform their lives and set them on the path to a positive and fulfilling adult life.

Family and Community Services youth intervention services aim to help these young people flourish and make a positive contribution to the life of New Zealand.

Services included:

Action Plan to tackle the growing of youth gangs in New Zealand.

The programme aims to provide young people with constructive activities that help them take advantage of new opportunities, and manage and respond positively to challenges.

The new "Look Closer" card from FACS helps young people to find support services in their region.
