Long road to employment turns
to success at Best Training

When Toeifiliga Ola left school at 16, she dreamed of having a job that would provide her with job satisfaction, security and a sense of pride.
But the path to her success today as a Course Director was not easy. At 25, she recalls being depressed as she struggled to provide for two children on her own with no qualifications and feared being dependent long-term on social welfare.
A friend told Toeifiliga about Best Training and the successes of its students. Like Toeifiliga, many had left school with few qualifications and had been unsuited to courses at other institutions. Eighty four per cent of Bests graduates find jobs in areas such as computer work, transport, travel, tourism, freight, administration and a variety of other industries or move on to further training.
Nine months after enrolling at Best, Toeifiliga graduated with an Advanced Certificate in Business Administration and was employed immediately by Best Training. The course had a huge impact on her life, lifting her academic ability and computer skills and raising her social skills, self-esteem and interview skills.
Best Training gave me so much help and taught me in a way that really suited how I like to learn. The Course Directors provided a huge amount of personal support. That was the big difference between Best and the other learning institutions the care and support by the staff and the help they give with finding employment.
Today, Toeifiliga is employed as Course Director for E-Learning at Best Training, heading up five courses and taking responsibility for up to 120 students.
What makes me so proud is watching the students grow from strength to strength, she says.
Best Trainings second semester begins on April 12 enrolments are being taken now. For more information call 0800 425 624 or visit www.besttraining.ac.nz
