Outward Bound is an absolutely unique school of education specialising in social and emotional learning. The focus is on personal development within a values framework and the outcomes are increased self-awareness, self-responsibility, confidence, empathy and motivation.
The learning style is experiential. A series of carefully designed activities are progressively sequenced and skilfully facilitated to enhance and accelerate life learning. The challenges are mental, emotional and physical and are conducted in a spirit of discovery and adventure. Unity with and respect for the natural environment, and living simply are an essential part.
Outward Bound is founded on universal values which are the essence of our culture. These include integrity, honesty, vitality, creativity, humility, compassion, courage and responsibility.
