International Student Visas Relaxed.
The government has been forced to ease rules on international students living in New Zealand due to the effect of skill shortages brought about by young Kiwis choosing to live overseas. From November, foreign graduate students will be able spend up to a year finding work in New Zealand instead of the current six months. Students will be able to sit their English Language test at anytime during their stay. At present they are required to sit it as soon as they arrive. David Cunliffe the Immigration Minister says it is a matter of trying to stay competitive with like minded countries, such as Australia. The changes apply to prospective students and those already living in New Zealand.
