Employment outcomes are important for any tertiary education institution.
But private training provider New Zealand Management Academies (NZMA) has taken this responsibility a step further than most. NZMA is so committed to helping their students and graduates find work that theyve recently launched their own recruitment company!
Red Fish is a work placement and employment service set up for NZMA and sister company FERN English Academy students and graduates. NZMA has academies in Central Auckland (Anzac Ave), South Auckland, West Auckland and Hamilton. The provider is well known for its industry-respected certificate and diploma courses in hospitality, business and contact centre. Red Fish specialises in all three of these fields.
The new company is spearheaded by Recruitment Manager Barry Anderson, who describes Red Fish as ground-breaking and unique.
No other private tertiary educator has moved in this direction, to this extent, in order to enhance employment opportunities for their students and alumni, he says.
In the past, NZMA has hired Employment Advisors to help students and graduates into the workforce, however the recent establishment of an independent recruitment company highlights the commitment the provider has to both its students and the industries it serves.
We have partnerships with employers all over the country, including many of New Zealands leading five-star hotels, telecommunications companies, banks, insurance companies and even domestic and international carriers.
The service we provide gives employers access to a large bank of trained workers - workers who are not just in it for the cash, but who are passionate about forging careers in their chosen field.
Red Fish has an absolute commitment to place NZMA and FERN students and graduates into appropriate employment. We will go the extra mile both for our clients and our employers and we are confident we have the knowledge and the recruitment know-how to hook the right clients up with the right jobs.
For international students NZMA and Red Fish offer a range of popular work/study packages. Red Fish will place those doing their National Diploma in Hospitality Management or National Diploma in Business into relevant part-time employment (up to 20 hours per week) within the first three months of their studies. Upon successful graduation, these students will be placed in relevant full-time work in New Zealand.
And although the companys prime role is to offer employment services to those studying at NZMA and FERN, Red Fish also specialises in working holiday and internship packages for overseas visitors to New Zealand. Red Fish can line employment up for travellers before they even leave home, alleviating stress and
