Asian students looking to forge careers in hospitality or business will find all the right ingredients at New Zealand Management Academies (NZMA).
The private training provider has academies in Central Auckland, South Auckland, West Auckland and Hamilton and offers a range of courses including the National Diploma in Hospitality Management and the National Diploma in Business.
Now, thanks to the launch of a new recruitment company, NZMA has even more to offer. Red Fish is a work placement and employment service set up to help students and graduates from NZMA, and sister company FERN English Academy, find jobs.
Red Fish Recruitment Manager Barry Anderson says no other private tertiary educator has moved in this direction, to this extent, in order to enhance employment opportunities for their students and alumni.
"Red Fish has been established with the main aim of hooking employers up with skilled and qualified students and graduates from NZMA and FERN. Its a win-win situation our students get good jobs and employers have access to quality employees," he says.
"We have partnerships with employers all over the country, including many of New Zealands leading five-star hotels, banks, insurance companies and even domestic and international carriers."
For international students NZMA and Red Fish offer a range of work/study packages. Red Fish places diploma students into relevant part-time employment within the first three months of their studies. Upon successful graduation they are placed into full-time roles. Red Fish also offers work/study packages in conjunction with FERN English Academy.
Hospitality diploma graduate Tadaaki Uematsu has already benefited from the launch of Red Fish he recently landed a job as a bartender and waiter for upmarket restaurant/bar Banque. Recruitment advisors have also helped NZMA student Momoko Nagasawa get a part-time job as a waitress at SkyCity and Koko Nakamura land a job as a receptionist at the Quadrant.
