By taking on a Modern Apprentice, you’ll be boosting your business and helping to train tomorrow’s workforce. You’ll discover the competitive advantage that a young person with the right attitude, ability and motivation can bring to your business. And you’ll have the assistance of a Modern Apprenticeships Co-ordinator so that taking on an apprentice is easier than it’s ever been. Modern Apprenticeships – The talent of a new generation at work Modern Apprenticeships is a quality training pathway for young people. This new training initiative was launched to attract able and motivated young New Zealanders aged 16 to 21 into industry and business careers. The emphasis is on quality. All Modern Apprentices work to a personal training plan and achieve nationally-recognised industry standards and qualifications at levels 3 and 4 of the National Qualifications Framework. The aim is to grow the Modern Apprenticeships concept over the next few years beyond the traditional trades into new and emerging industry and business sectors. What’s different about Modern Apprenticeships? Modern Apprenticeships combines the best of apprenticeship traditions with some fresh thinking. The biggest difference is the level of support available to participating employers. You’ll work with your own Modern Apprenticeships Co-ordinator, who will actively support you and your Modern Apprentice for the duration of the Modern Apprenticeship. And you’ll have first choice of a committed and motivated young person who wants to work in your business.
