Planning is well under way for the first joint national primary and early childhood conference for NZEI Te Riu Roa members who teach in the early years to be held in Wellington from 4-7 April 2002. The focus of the conference is professional development.



The messages of the conference are:

.1.Collaborative approaches in early childhood and primary education;

.2.The role of the early childhood and primary teachers, parents, whanau and policy makers;

.3.The well-being of the child; and

.4.Building communities of mutual respect.
