If you�re 16 to 21 years old, a Modern Apprenticeship will launch your career in the best way possible. You�ll be paid to learn from the experts for two to four years, depending on the industry you choose.
So, if you�re ready to earn and keen to learn, keep reading, because there may already be a Modern Apprenticeship available in the industry or business that interests you.
Modern Apprenticeships � workplace training for today
As a Modern Apprentice you�ll be assigned your own personal mentor � a Modern Apprenticeships Co-ordinator � whose job it is to help you succeed.
Your Co-ordinator will ensure you complete your training with an employer who offers top quality employment-based training.
Your own personalised training plan
Your Modern Apprenticeships Co-ordinator will work with you and your employer to develop a personal training plan tailored to your needs.
Modern Apprenticeships � a focus on your success
Your Modern Apprenticeships Co-ordinator will regularly review your progress against your personal training plan to make sure you�re on target to successfully complete your apprenticeship.
A nationally-recognised qualification
Modern Apprenticeships training leads to a National Certificate at levels 3 and 4. This means your Modern Apprenticeship will be recognised by employers throughout New Zealand.
Who�s eligible?
To be eligible for Modern Apprenticeships you must:
� be 16 to 21 years old when you begin*
� meet any entry requirements for your particular industry or business
� be ready to work towards National Certificate/s at levels 3 and 4.
Entry requirements vary from industry to industry, but the Modern Apprenticeships Co-ordinator will let you know what these are and will help the employer find the best person to meet their needs.
*Provision may be made for older people seeking a change in career.
