Is archery something you have wanted to give a go? Or would you like to improve your skills and technique? Then don’t miss out on booking yourself into our historically popular course. The day covers safety, aiming, stance, along with loads of fun games. All equipment included.
Groups will be split into 2 levels:
Level 1: 5-12year (Basic introduction to archery)
Level 2: 9+ years (Advanced archery skills, including specific technical skills and aiming - must have completed level 1)

Fun on Tuesdays - Don’t get bored in the school holiday’s, join us on Tuesdays for something different. Some fun activities for the children to participate in, yummy soup making, crafts, parlour games, old fashioned wooden toys and rag rug making all in your leisure. Costumed Villagers are awaiting your visit.
School Holiday Programmes - School holidays are always a special time for children and at Howick Historical Village we make it even more special by offering a one-day programme for children aged 5-12 years. With a different theme offered every holiday, there’s always something new to come back to – crafts, cooking, games, team activities, and much more.
School Educational Visits - chose an activity that suits your topic, Raupo Hut model making, Clothing, Migrant women, Courthouse, Digging up the past, Wash day, Nursery rhymes, Unpacking the trunk, Parlour games, Washday, Helpful Herbs, Butter making, Rag Rug making, Indoor toys, Military Manoevres, School Lesson, Jolly Trolleys, Potion or Poison, new Code-cracking and cooking.
Services and Facilities - There are picnic areas available, wheelchair accessible toilets, a mobility scooter and free car parking. A Special Visit - Half-day tours, birthday parties and Fun on Tuesdays in the school holidays, school holiday programmes, and Live Days – it’s all here for you to enjoy.
Live Days for the whole family happen every 3rd Sunday,where the Village Comes to Life with costumed villagers going about Life in the 1840's, cooking over fires, horse and cart rides, a chapel service and a mock school lesson where you get to write on slate. The 65th Regiment performs drills and mock skirmishes and the Village dancers are awaiting to teach you a dance or two.

We’re celebrating our city this summer and need your help to do it. Come see the beautiful panoramic views of Auckland from our Events Centre, then uncover stories of the city and the people who share them with you.
We’ve got lots of fun activities for you to try: create your own unique emblem to decorate your street, tell us who you would pick to dine with at a special dinner, choose what you would put in your own museum, or take a turn in our Storytelling Chair and share your own stories and memories.
Then join us for special demonstrations, vibrant music, dance and storytelling performances, from the likes of Chris Priestley and the Unsung Heroes, Celtic Tales with Tanya Batt, Karetao PÅ«oro (puppets with a musical voice), Black Friars present ‘Cinderella and the Three Puaka’ and readings by Tessa Duder.
