Auckland Institute of Studies (AIS)

Auckland Institute of Studies (AIS) is one of New Zealand’s largest independent degree-granting institutions.

AIS offer a wide range of NZQA-approved diploma and degree programmes in businesstourism, hospitalityinformation technology (IT) and business administration including one of the largest MBA programmes in the country.

At AIS you will experience expert personalised education in small classes. Staff provide a friendly and nurturing environment that balances and supports the rigorous academic programmes.  Whether from New Zealand or overseas, you will receive everything you need to feel comfortable and confident while studying at AIS – ensuring that you are well-equipped to succeed once you complete your qualification.

Quality Education
New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) recognise AIS as a Category 1 Provider offering you the reassurance of knowing you have enrolled in one of New Zealand’s largest and longest-established Tertiary Education Organisations. Members of our well respected academic staff are leaders in their fields and committed to providing you with the best possible educational outcome.

INDIVIDUAL FOCUS

You are much more than just another student at AIS. AIS class sizes are considerably smaller than many other higher education providers, guaranteeing you better access to academic staff when you need it and maximising your learning opportunities. Fast track programmes, flexible entry dates and cross credit recognition mean you can create a study programme that suits you.

SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENT

It’s important that you feel confident and comfortable while you are studying – especially if you are a long way from home. The friendly and approachable Student Services and Marketing team at AIS are available to provide help and support on a broad range of issues such as banking, transport, visa and insurance – in your own language.

Support strategies are in place to cater for the different skills and abilities of individual students, thereby enhancing opportunities to achieve their goals and the availability of a Study Skills Advisor and our Study Buddy Programme is a reflection of the importance we give to achieve this objective.

REAL WORLD SUCCESS

At AIS we understand that you are studying because you need options in the future- options for further study, for employment or even for immigration. Our industry – focused programmes are carefully designed to provide the training you will need to succeed. Gain relevant NZ work experience on the AIS MBA Internship Pathway or the AIS Graduate Placement Service. The on-campus Student Careers Centre offers support and assistance on gaining employment by helping with CV and cover letter writing, interview preparation as well as providing workshops on the marketplace.

Location
The AIS campuses are located in Mt Albert, on 3.5 hectares of spacious, park-like grounds, a short distance from downtown Auckland.

Public transport is available from the city centre at regular intervals and both train and bus stops are located close to our campuses. A shuttle bus for students also runs between the St Helens Campus and Auckland City, which is close to major bus, rail and harbor ferry terminals.

For those that prefer not to travel on-campus accommodation is available as well.
