Vertical Horizonz Group (VHG) was registered as a Private Training Establishment (PTE) with NZQA in 1998.

We have a large accreditation range and offer over 70 short courses within five core business areas:

Transport and Crane Operations;

Rural Operations:

Height and Safety (Industrial Safety);

Health and Safety;

Professional Development.

The majority of the courses are unit standards based and staircase into National Certificates.

We offer full National Certificates in Crane (Mobile and Tower) and Commercial Road Transport, Occupational Health and Safety (Workplace Safety), Business (First Line Management) and Adult Education and Training. 

 

 

We specialise in the delivery of practical, skill based training, of high quality, to industry clients wanting some consistency in training throughout the country. We have a true national reach. Last year, for example, VHG delivered training in Antarctica and Kaitaia. 

 

We also deliver training on behalf of a large number of Industry Training Organisations and other Tertiary Education Providers.

 

 

We employ more than 50 staff and contractors and manage these through the rigorous application of a robust Quality Management System overseen by a specialist Academic Manager, enforced by a dedicated Compliance Manager and supported by  a Quality Assurance Coordinator.  All Unit Standard based courses and assessments are standardised and pre-moderated. NZQA state that they are ?Highly Confident' in the educational performance of VHG.

 

In addition to our core business we also provide consultancy and management support services on an as and as when required basis in such areas such as risk assessment and security, organisational resilience and capacity building and human resource development and training.

 

 

We have a Registered Training Organisation in Australia, Vertical Horizonz Australia, which provides similar training and services, and outcomes, and in some cases, enable VHG to award dual qualifications.

Our trainers are recognised subject matter experts in their areas of expertise. They have gained experience from dealing with "real" situations in varying environments and conditions. Our trainers are always keen to offer advice and assistance on a broad range of industrial related matters. We are flexible and can tailor the course to meet your specific requirements.

Vertical Horizonz Group trainers are accredited Workplace Assessors, hold a NZ Certificate in Adult Teaching and, where possible are Industry Training Organisation vetted Trainer Assessors. We aim to exceed ITO registered assessor standards.

Our Quality Management System is overseen by a specialist staff including an Academic Manager, Compliance Manager and a Quality Assurance Coordinator.  NZQA state that they are ?Highly Confident' in the ability of the Vertical Horizonz quality management process.
