MITO works closely with industry stakeholders and employers to provide high quality national qualifications and training programmes.
StartUp? is MITO's automotive programme for secondary school students. StartUp? gives students the chance to experience the motor industry and at the same time earn credits towards the National Certificate in Motor Industry (Foundation Skills) (Level 1). Students complete two theory unit standards in the classroom and
then a selection of practical unit standards in a workplace.
Skills JumpStart can lead to the National Certificate in Motor Industry (Entry Skills) (Level 2). This is the first step in a motor industry apprenticeship.
The first step to becoming a MITO apprentice is to get a job in the industry. Apprentices also need their employer to agree to support them through their apprenticeship. Find out more about how to become a MITO apprentice.
ATech? gives qualified technicians the opportunity to extend their technical and management skills. MITO's cutting-edge programme, ATech? is designed by industry experts. Through ATech? the National Certificate in Motor Industry (Advanced Technical) (Level 5) can be achieved.
Business and Sales programmes are available to those working in administrative, supervisory or management roles. MITO's First Line Management business skills programme takes just one year to complete and includes project work and modules on team management and business operations.
Transport and Logistics programmes are available to people working in road transport, heavy haulage, relocation operations, warehousing and logistics. MITO has a range of programmes that cover a range of industry qualifications.
Extractive, oil and gas, petrochemical, energy, chemical plant and resource recovery programmes are available through MITO. The training programmes lead to a range of qualifications including certificates of competency and Level 2 to Level 5 national qualifications covering entry-level and core skills through to operations, supervision and management.
