Progress with vision, integrity and love

Kristin School is an independent, co-educational school of approximately 1550 students from Kindergarten through to Year 13. Located in Albany on Auckland's North Shore, Kristin is a relatively young school, founded in 1973 by a small group of North Shore parents and is owned by the Kristin School Charitable Trust. The school is non-denominational and welcomes students from all cultures and backgrounds.

Kristin is structured as three schools within one whole school. The Junior, Middle and Senior Schools are all located on the same campus in Albany, on 50 acres of park-like grounds with state-of-the-art and award winning facilities. Each school follows the philosophy of Kristin while creating their own distinctive character relative to the age group of the students.

The first school in New Zealand to introduce the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme, Kristin offers IB alongside the New Zealand National Curriculum to Junior, Middle and Senior School students. Kristin's proud record of success as a leading IB school has allowed students to gain entry to some of the world's most prestigious universities and our Senior School students are regularly ranked amongst the highest achievers in national and international examinations. As an IB World School, Kristin is committed to developing an international perspective and a sense of global awareness across all three schools and throughout the wider Kristin community.

Kristin Kindergarten, being in a whole school environment, allows for interaction with students from 4 - 18 years. Students learn at least one foreign language from Junior School, and as a leader in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), students through all levels learn to utilise the benefits of technology across all areas of their schooling. Students from Year 5 onwards each work on their own personal laptop as a part of Kristin's digital learning programme.

The Performing Arts programme, which spans all three schools, carries a long-standing reputation of excellence. Students learn to confidently express themselves and to discover their potential to explore, to create and to communicate through the Arts. Kristin also aims to foster a lifetime love of sport and healthy living through fun and learning. Whether a student is participating as an individual or as part of a team, Kristin sport provides them with a unique sense of place, friendships and the ability to conquer their fears to develop greater strength of character. High performance and development programmes provide a platform for specialist training with proven support structures in place to help students to balance high performance sport with academic commitments.

Our vision at Kristin School is to provide students with a superior all-round education, to prepare them to be responsible world citizens, to think creatively, reason critically, communicate effectively and learn enthusiastically throughout life.

Progress with vision, integrity and love.
