The primary focus of AIC is academic excellence. Students expect and receive an education which prepares them for study at the world's leading universities. The IB Diploma programme was selected by AIC as the best school leaving qualification which enables students to gain entry into universities throughout the world.
AIC prioritises university counselling support by employing three university counsellors at the College. From Year 11, AIC students start the university application coaching and preparation process. Counsellors prepare students for SAT tests, explain what university admissions officers are looking for, provide individual interview coaching and, because of their specialist expertise, can explain the best ways to apply to various universities. Since the first graduating class in 2006, AIC alumni have gone on to study at Cambridge and Oxford Universities in the UK, Columbia, Harvard, Stanford and UCLA in the USA to name just a few.
Creativity, Action and Service
AIC students are grounded, well rounded and balanced. The Creativity, Action and Service (CAS) programme provides experiences for students to develop self-confidence, empathy and a willingness to help others. Students participate in creative arts, sports and community service activities, encouraging them to demonstrate qualities of curiosity, honesty, responsibility and objective self-analysis.
The AIC boarding house is located ten minutes from the school. In a large attractive complex, students have plenty of room to spread out and relax in. The boarding house is culturally diverse and grounded in common goals. The boarding staff, who care for the students, are from a variety of countries and have wide ranging experience. The boarding facility exists to support students to achieve academic success. It operates under strict guidelines and a clear discipline system. Students are expected to take responsibility for their environment.
If I am not for myself, who is for me? If I care only for myself, who am I?
