UCOL Whanganui

UCOL Whanganui is equipped with state of the art facilities and is situated alongside the beautiful Whanganui River and Moutoa Gardens. Then new campus was built in 2008 and is one block from the main shopping street and cafes.

The campus provides a variety of diverse and comprehensive programmes catering to interests in the creative industries, including Fashion, Art and Design, Hospitality, Chef Training, Hairdressing, Health Science, Business and Administration, and many more.

The result is a vibrant and exciting state of the art learning environment incorporating indoor and outdoor social spaces, and exhibition and event spaces. Large pattern making facilities and a room full of sewing machines are popular hangouts for fashion students. The Mac Labs at the campus are frequently updated so they keep up to date with the ever changing industry of modern design, with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Bridge. Two purpose built teaching kitchens for Hospitality and cookery students are well utilised and 'Visions on Rutland' restaurant is open to the public throughout the year.

Whanganui is located on the west coast of the Central North Island of New Zealand. The city is situated about 73 kilometres (1 hour drive) northeast of Palmerston North. An attractive provincial city that sits astride the majestic Whanganui River, it is also host to a distinguished culture focused around creativity and arts. It is home to many of the region's prominent museums, libraries and art galleries.

With boutiques and cafes that blend effortlessly into the colourful art-deco buildings that line the main streets, 2 large libraries, an efficient local bus service and train station running trips North and South of the city, Whanganui makes a fine backdrop to your exciting study path at UCOL. 2012
