UCOL Palmerston North

UCOL's stunning architecturally designed campus is situated in the heart of the vibrant and youthful Palmerston North and has become one of the city's landmarks. A huge range of dynamic and practical programmes of study are taught at the campus.

Palmerston North is the Student City ( of the North Island, and boasts an extensive array of entertainment options, from cafés and restaurants to top-class sporting facilities. Whatever your mood, there's something here for you.

As the crossroads of the central/lower North Island, the city's international airport puts Australia a mere two hours away, while other North Island centres and attractions, including impressive ski-fields, are within an easy two-three hour drive.

In 2004, UCOL opened an on-campus childcare facility, Ukidz that is available to students, staff and the general public.

UCOL Palmerston North’s stunning architecturally designed campus is situated in the heart of the vibrant and youthful Manawatu and has become one of the region’s landmarks.

UCOL polytechnic and institute of technology offers a wide range of over 100 hands on programmes of study for students, and is well known for its Trades and Health and Science Programmes such as Bachelor of Nursing and Medical Imaging Technology. 

The campus architecture combines historic buildings with state-of the-art facilities, including a well-equipped gym. A new Learning Hub includes a contemporary, student friendly lounge area, more than 60 computer stations, wireless access for laptops for student use and access to our excellent library. There’s also barista coffee and light food available, and Childcare facilities on campus at Ukidz, a purpose built early childhood education centre.

Palmerston North or “Student City” is a green and lively city in the Manawatu region of New Zealand with a strong retail, arts and cafe culture. It’s within an easy two hour drive of New Zealand’s capital city Wellington, Hawkes Bay and Wairarapa wineries, and within three hours of impressive ski-fields at Mount Ruapehu.
