|NEW ZEALAND'S EDUCATION
UCOL Wairarapa is based in the appealing town of Masterton, on the outskirts of the town's shopping precinct.
UCOL's Masterton campus is the Wairarapa's focus for tertiary training and education. The well-resourced campus is made up of single story buildings set amongst mature trees, streams and plenty of green grass, providing a peaceful environment in which to study. The campus sits on Whakaoriori Marae and hosts a wharenui – Te Amorangi, available to students and the wider local community.
Students and staff create a close-knit community where lecturers and support staff are readily accessible for advice and help. Facilities include a Student Hub with adjacent cafeteria where students can socialise and relax or study using the campus' wireless capability.
Masterton is the hub of the scenic and historic Wairarapa where a great variety of outdoor activities can be complemented by more leisurely urban-based pursuits such as exploring wineries, museums, craft shops and cafes.
UCOL Wairarapa makes a valuable contribution to this growing horticultural, viticultural, farming, tourism and lifestyle centre. A fantastic retreat from the fast pace of city-life, this region has preserved its own identity and vitality.
