Maori Education Trust Scholarships

The Mï¿½ori Education Trust (Te tari o ngï¿½ kaitiaki mï¿½ ngï¿½ take Mï¿½tauranga Mï¿½ori ) was formed under the Mï¿½ori Education Foundation Act 1961. Its basic objective was to encourage Mï¿½ori into tertiary education. The initial scholarships were derived from public raised funds and private bequests which were subsidised by Government. Additional income is derived by the provision of fee-based service contracts.
